a day filled with rain! a day with cooler temps! Friday! Date night! Texas Rangers in the win column!
ok, that last part is wishful/hopeful/positive thinking :)

today I was one of those people... who when I drive by their house I shake my head and think what are they thinking? I've had our sprinkler turned off all week, waiting for the rain. there would be a drop of rain here and there, but never anything more than a few drops. last night I turned the sprinkler on, so that it would come on at it's scheduled time this morning, and when I get up, the sprinklers are going and it is pouring down rain! in my defense, my sprinklers come on at 5am, who knew it would be raining then, and seriously, I am asleep! at any rate, I just shook my head and thought, what are you thinking!

I've not had our cupcake much this week. I go pick her up, then someone is there to get her within an hour. we do not get to spend much time together that way. she misses me too! I'll ask her, do you miss me and she just grins so big her body wiggles... that means yes in babyland. tomorrow though, we are all going to our hometown in Texas, watching the big float parade. horses and firetrucks and school marching bands. craft show on the courthouse lawn. we'll meet Jess and Josh there, along with my parents and my brother, and spend most of the day in town just hanging around. I'm thinking I better charge my camera battery tonight. can't wait to see the look on little missy's face as everything goes by.

here is a say hello layout. lots of layers, misting, washi tape, even some sewing. I do think now that it would look a bit better with a second color misted as well, but it works fine like this. I sill like it, and the picture makes me smile. isn't that what it's all about!

Can I get a WooHoo!!

really! seriously!! I wanna woohoo! while it is a Monday, it's also the first day of the photography workshop with Karen! woohoo! (ok, so now it is officially the second day because I didn't get this post finished yesterday!)

here's a little picture I took of just a smidgen of the flower beauty in my backyard. I seemed to play with my camera quite a bit over the weekend, and it felt good! I have no idea if the picture is correct, but I like it!

and now for a couple of layouts that I've finished. slowly I am getting back into scrapping. the desire is there, just seems to be so many other things needing my attention. anyone else feel that way?

and.... how could I not include a picture of cupcake! her momma is a big time couponer, and Sunday spread out over the living room floor cutting her coupons. miss cupcake thought her momma needed help! does she not have a look on her face that says, "do you mind??? I'm trying to read the paper". she is a hoot! and such a happy happy baby, except when she is fighting her sleep, like last night. even then she makes me laugh!

I have a feeling Karen's workshop is going to keep me pretty busy over the next 9 weeks... but I'm pumped! I'm ready! I'm excited and ready to get snapping! Have a great Tuesday!

Approach with Caution!

I really needed to be wearing a sign with that warning on it around my neck yesterday!  I truly felt for everyone that had to cross my path.  I am blaming it on the time change! I want to start a petition to do away with time change!  Who is with me??  I've been tired all week long, and not just oh it's been a busy day tired, but tired as in I need sleep!  I'm going to be early enough, maybe, it's the time change, I'm telling you!  When I'm tired like that, I don't even want to talk, I know, those of you that know me are shocked right now.  Me, not want to talk, sure you are thinking.  It's true though, and if you say something to me that is going to require and answer from me, well, you should duck!  Plus, I think part of it might be a little stress related, but I'm ignoring that part! Cause good things are a'coming! In 3 weeks, give or take a few days, we'll all be loving on a baby. Spring is on it's way with warmer temps, how can I not be happy for that. 

AND,  it's 8 weeks until I'll be at the Lakehouse for 5 days!  5 wonderful, responsibility free, no worries cause it's all good, hanging with my gals, doing what I want DAYS!

Over the last few weeks as D and I've talked about where we might end up living and all the uncertainty of what is going on, I just keep saying, "as long as you know, I'm not giving up my twice a year lakehouse retreats!"  We may not have money for food, and I might have to walk, but I'm a going to the lakehouse!!  I mean, I'm pretty sure that we signed something in blood, and it's a commitment for life, that it's just not an option to not go.  Yep, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Here are a couple more layouts I finished up last week. They are both from my Gossamer Blue kit, that was so full of love and Valentines.  I really did struggle with them, but, they are done and I'm happy with that.  I've not been as productive this week, but I feel my mojo returning.  It's just the dogs and I tonight, who knows what might happen!

and, here are my 4 layouts with my January Gossamer Blue kit.  I'm telling you guys, I'm going to get a free album!  These layouts were a little more rushed than I would have liked them to be, and I'm not totally in love with them all, but, it's all good!  Most of last weekend was spent making baby shower invitations, and not working on my layouts, so I had to hurry hurry.

The exciting part about it, there are 4 pages to go in 4 different albums! That my friends is progress! 

I'm back to handwriting on most of my layouts.  There is nothing at all I like about my writing, because I can not seem to make myself slowdown enough to have it neat, but, it's me, it's always been this way, and one day I believe my family will look back, see that writing and smile.  I think this, because when I find things with my Grandmothers writing, it makes me smile.

AND, in case you missed this on my facebook!  The grandpups have been spending lots of time at our house over the last couple of months.  Seems someone got into my scrappy supplies, so we had to make a sign for her momma to see what happened.  She really is a sweet little doll!  And seriously, does she not look just a little remorseful!
