The whole day...

Yes, for a change I have the whole day at home! And on NSD day too! Even thought it's just the day and not the weekend, I'm gonna be excited!!

Seems I've not gotten much of anything done here lately, because all I've been doing is reading! I used to read like this, all the time, it's just been a long time since I let myself get lost in the world of books. I read 5 books in April! FIVE! It's been years since I've done that. I got lost in the Hunger Games, surprised myself, but I did. Then in the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy, another surprise. I read this book called Lunatics that David brought home.... and now, I've discovered a new Sookie Stackhouse book is out. I'm going to have to quit my day job!

Today I've got to play catch-up.... on the house... the yard... the laundry... and most importantly... on Project Life!! I am so behind it's not even funny! Good news is, I've got a retreat in 2 weeks, and I'm sure that is what I'll be working on!!

Here is my latest layout for Project 12, yes, still 2011.... but, I'm halfway done! Progress is being made! Everything is from one of my Studio Calico kits, I'm not remembering which one. I love just about everything about it, except the title. But, I'm leaving it. This was a really fun sketch to use. I'd provide the links, but honestly, not sure I can even find them after a year. Just know, it's a pagemaps sketch, as are all of the Project 12 layouts.
Hope you all find some time to play today... and enjoy NSD!!

It's Time

To explore new things!

That's the word I've picked out for my word of the year! That's just what I intend to do...explore new things! I'm hoping I can remember to take photo's of most of my explorations, so that I can journal them along the way.

I'm planning to explore
~new things in the kitchen! Who'd have known that after all these years of totally hating cooking that I'm finding a new love for it!
~more settings on my camera! Not just explore them, but understand them! I'm currently enrolled in an online class. How's it going you ask... well it just started and I've yet to look over the material!
~new scrappy goodness! I'm so wanting to not just stretch outside my comfort zone..but to JUMP..and learn new goodness! I'm planning to go to a retreat in TN and will be spending a day with Jenni Bowlin! That's a good start don't ya think!
~swimming! Yes swimming... I shall learn to swim this year and jump off the diving board all by myself without threatening to harm David if he lets me drown!
I'm sure there will be more as the year progresses... and I can not wait to
EXPLORE!

Here's a layout that I've done for a challenge over at All About Me . It's challenge #34, and you were to come up with resolutions, goals, or a to-do list of some sort...or share your word for the year. So, as you can see, I did my word of the year... which worked out really well for me as I was wanting to start a mini book on it. Ahhh, look, a mini book.. not something I've done until starting my December Daily... now that's exploring!

Papers from Bo Bunny, Stampin Up cardstock, My Minds Eye, & October Afternoon.
Embellies from Tim Holtz metal Live tag, Jenni Bowlin January spot, & Pink Paislee tickets
Alphas from Thickers & Ribbon unknown
Clock stamp from Stampin Up!
Flowers from Prima & Bounce Dryer Sheets! Yep that's right.. made from used bounce dryer sheets! My friend Kathi taught me how and it's totally amazing! They were covered in paint with some stickles thrown in for sparkle!

Thanks for looking! Now I'm off to try and glimmer mist some streamers. The big Super Bowl party is still on for tomorrow... and I'm still not knowing how I managed to invite everyone. Good thing I cleaned the carpets today... have a feeling I'll be sitting in the floor tomorrow!

Soak Up The Sun

Here's my layout for this weeks challenge over at Scrapping the Music.
While I haven't been able to play along with them lately, I do love their challenges! It's a great site and if you guys haven't checked them out yet, it's well worth your time! This weeks song is "Soak Up The Sun" by Sheryl Crowe. It's a good thing I love that song because I've been humming it for days now!

I thought these pics were perfect. The pics are of Miss Jess and are when she and I went to Florida.

All products used are S.E.I.

Yea! I finally used one, well some of it, of the 50 bajillion kits that I seem to have stock piled. Can I get an atta girl!

Caffeine update: I went all evening without any and then rewarded myself right before bedtime with just a tiny bit of sweet tea... and I do mean tiny. Then had only 2 cups of coffee this morning and now back to water. Surprisingly David is still alive. Not only is he still alive, but he still has all of his body parts attached! I really don't think it's the caffeine I'm missing as much as the sugar in my sweet tea... at least that's what I'm telling myself.

I must get busy! Wishing you all a fabulous day!
As always.... thanks for taking the time to stop by!
