Finally scrappin' again!

Once again it's been a few weeks since I've posted. It's really been a bit busy. David and I went to New Mexico with my parents and a couple of aunts for 4 days. We were high up in the mountains, and while it was beautiful it rained ever single day. We were able to see a hot air balloon show and I'll post some pics from it. Those balloons are beautiful!

The week before we left I was busy trying to get ready to go. Then the week after I was trying to get back in the swing of things. Plus what was it, just a couple weeks before our New Mexico trip I was in Tulsa for a few days. Think this is going to be my first full week back at work in a month or better. Hope I can survive it!

We did have a really good time on our vacation and I promise to share some pics of it, but first I want to share these layouts.

The first two are from a layout swap I was in. You were to send some pictures to your assigned person, and then they would create layouts from your pics. My send to person was Jenn. Didn't she do a great job! The pictures are from when I went to NYC and then CT to meet up with Elaine and Serene. We took these pictures at the crop that the expo was holding. We had so much fun and were just being silly. I believe it was Elaine's idea to act like we were all just worn out. Except the one picture were Serene is looking lost, I think she really was lost right then. She was having a "oh my gosh how did I get all that stuff in that bag" moment!
We did have lots and lots of fun though. Didn't Jenn do a great job on the layouts. I love them Jenn, thank you so very much!

This layout is from the album that I am putting together for my mother. I am having so much fun going through these pictures of not only when my mom was a little girl but before she was even born. This picture is of my great-grandparents, and taken before my grandmother was born... I believe it was taken before 1920. I've really gotten out of my comfort zone on this layout and I'm pretty happy with the results.
I finally pulled out some of my Graphic 45 paper and used it. Yea! I made all of my embellies and it was such fun. All of the flowers were white... yes, white. I sprayed them with Glimmer Mist. Then using PK Glitz embossing glitter, I made my own glitter brads. I used my pazzle and cut the swirly chipboard piece, then Glimmer Misted it. That stuff is awesome... if you don't have any...get some now!
A little bit of inking and papers from Basic Grey and Stampin Up.... Not to shabby!
I still need to do a title and a little journaling, but other than that this one is done. I've even started on layout #2.

As always, thank you for looking at my blog. Promise I'll be back very very soon this time!

Jenn did a great job on your pics, love the pics! You ladies are hams even when you're exhausted....too funny!
Also, beautiful job on your lo, love how you used so much colour on a vintage photo, instead of the usual neutrals. And great work on all the embellies.
Oh, and love what you did with your blog! It's very scrap-dilly-icious!
