it's happened!

yesterday, I had to wear shoes. Not just any shoes, but boots... with leggings. It really did hurt my heart to have to put them on! Today is another day that they are needed. This morning, I even had to turn the heater on! Can you see my terribly sad face.... summer is over and winter is right around the corner. Almost time to pack up the flip flops and strappy sandals.

our photo shoot turned out great on Saturday. You know why, because I now have pictures of all of us together. I didn't have to plan them, or take them, or remember to hide the remote. I don't care if we don't look perfect, if I'm having a bad hair day, or if it's obvious I'm not in my 30's anymore! I don't care about all of that... the most important thing is that I have them! Forever! I can't wait to see them all!
On a side note, 5 years ago, why even 2 years ago, I would have picked apart a dozen things with these pictures... found many things I didn't like and rejected most of them... now I'm just thrilled to have them. Isn't it amazing how not only do we change, but our priorities as well.

Here's another layout for Kristen's album. I really like the sweetness of this one. She is going to have a nice album full of great memories when it's all finished. The little giraffe is too stinking cute!!

Wishing you all a fabulous day full of inspiration! :)

LOL Us and our flops, Lisa!! I usually wear them all year even though people look at me crazy. But now that I am retired they think I am cute!! LOL But, also, the older I get the colder I get so I guess I, too, might have to pack them away!! :(

I even laughed at how you take things as they are now. Jim and I have found that, too. It is all in the fact that we have what is important to us.

I had just put on one of my LO's I posted in my gallery that I see a so much beauty in an aged face...I truly do. I think that is what God wants us to look like. If not...why did He make it to happen...TO EVERYONE!!! Let's appreciate them. We EARNED them!!! LOL

So I think you are right on target girl. Enjoy all of life for what it is. Hug, kiss and love.Let's smile through it all!!

Love your LO! And of course that giraffe is out of sight!!! Great scrapping

Sigh...I am going to miss the warmer weather, too. The older I get (not that 40 is old by any means!) I have noticed that cold weather just gets harder and harder to tolerate.
What a great family photo! Love the word family in the front!
And really cute layout :)

Very sweet layout Lisa! And you're right, that giraffe is adorable! I am trying to learn to be like you and not be so quick to pick photos apart. I stink at that. Maybe it's the professional photographer in me? Nah, it's still the vanity.

Lisa you look beautiful! Ando so does your family :) oh my you had to put on the dreaded shoes huh ;)

This album you're creating is just gorgeous. The lo's and pics are great.

The cool weather is coming very very slowly here. One day it's jeans the next shorts

What a great pic. I love everyone's smile and I especially love how the sun is highlighting your hair. That family sign is so nice, too. It's a good thing that you took these family shots and as you say, they're forever. Oh and honey, you don't look a day over 35!!!

What a sweet lo, indeed. I absolutely love how the misting creates the illusion of stars to go with the title. Very clever!

I moved from Florida to Germany and the only thing about warm weather I miss are the flip-flops. I love having the cold weather and getting to experience seasons. Such a change of pace. Great photo and such a cute layout.

I hear ya! I wore boots today. I've been wearing sandals for so long; just trying to hold on to the last little piece of summer.

The family photo is fab! I love that you are embracing the NOW - can't wait to see the rest of the them. Bring them in November!

Kristi's album is so special, even more so that you are doing it for her. Terrific LO. Especially the giraffe.

Your pictures are just wonderful! I know you and Jess will just be thrilled with the wedding photos too!

And the layout is so cute. Love the color combo, and the giraffe is cute indeed! The misting is the perfect touch for your title.

And see.. I love boot weather. I said it!

Great layout! Lisa, I really love the letters you made in the front of your beautiful family.

And I hate the cold too. But we seem to have it for 6 months a year here.

Stay warm, my friend. Talk to you soon.
